The story
Why Le Coup?
The name comes from Mallarmé's poem «Un coup de dés jamais n'abolira le hasard» — «a throw of the dice will never abolish chance». We became attached to the line early in the process: it captures something central about casino games — that chance is always present, no matter how well you play. We asked a friend what he thought of the name. He said it was cool. That was enough.
Le Coup is also French for «the decisive move» — the moment where knowledge and timing meet. That is what we want to give our players: not just luck, but insight.
We started with six games we genuinely find interesting: Reactoonz, Book of Dead, Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette and Sports Betting. For each game we have written thorough articles on rules, history, mathematics and — where relevant — strategy.
